I Love You Phillip Morris

Glenn Ficarra and John Requa's movie I Love You Phillip Morris, starring Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor, was delayed yet again. The movie was not taken so well by American audiences, with many claiming it was "too gay." The film has also been delayed by an American judge that ruled an injunction to stop the movie's release. This comes as quite a shock, as we are in a day in age where prejudices should not see the light of day. If anyone is interested in watching I Love You Phillip Morris earlier, there are numerous sites that stream it for free.

SEQUELITIS

In recent movie news, Sex and the City 2 received horrible reviews but did reasonably well in the box office. Even the lovable Shrek proved to be a disaster. It's not surprising to me that movie goers "are looking for something new and fresh." Iron Man 2 was well liked by most viewers, receiving almost $300 million in the box office so far.

Sinatra Biopic

Martin Scorsese's first choice to play Frank Sinatra is Al Pacino. I am definitely iffy on this decision because Pacino ain't getting any younger.

More Love

Courtney Love gave an interview on the Howard Stern show claiming she had an affair with Gavin Rossdale. Rossdale is currently married to Gwen Stefani and has not released a statement on this allegation. So Courtney Love went from possibly-talented artist, to drug addict, to Cobain-killer, to an even bigger drug addict, to wannabe Barbie, to home-wrecker. Great job, Love!

Brandon Flowers

Brandon Flowers, lead singer of the Killers, is releasing a solo album entitled Flamingo. Flowers claims that the band did not break up, they are simply on hiatus until he's done with his solo career. I'll definitely be checking this out. Hopefully Flamingo is not as terrible as the Killers' last few albums.

Scream 4 OFFICIAL!!!!

So, a few blogs ago I mentioned that Scream 4 is in talks of being made. Now, Kevin Williamson, the writer of the first two Screams announced that they will begin shooting this spring. The cast will include Courtney Cox, Neve Campbell, and David Arquette, the original cast. The movie is due to be released sometime around April 2011. Wes Craven will be directing with Dimension Films studio. Can't wait :)

Blur

Blur released a new single after seven years. The new song is called "Fool's Day." It was recorded in early April and is the first new material anyone's seen from the band since 2003. There will only be "1,000 limited edition 7" vinyl singles sold at 150 participation music shops in UK." Blur's record label is really excited about this single and are hoping for an upcoming album.

Keane Politics

Keane got pretty upset when the Conservative Party played "Everybody's Changing" at a London conference. Apparently the Conservative Party did not ask the band's permission...Big whoop.

Robert Pattinson to Play Cobain

So, it seems like Robert Pattinson might suck in another movie, an upcoming biopic of Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain. According to Pattinson, this is his "dream role" because he has always considered himself more of a musician, not an actor. For my sanity, I really hope something goes terribly right and Rob Pattinson does not get the privilege of playing Kurt Cobain. Please Rob, step away from the Cobain script and go pick up a guitar. GO, GO, GO!

So, yesterday I was not paying attention in my English class, as usual. My teacher was rambling on about the Great Gatsby for a few minutes so I decided to turn my ears off. White Stripes VS. the MAN

The famous rock band went up against an Air Force recruitment that allegedly used an edited version of "Fell in Love with a Girl" for their commercial. The company responsible for the commercial's music said that they had never heard the White Stripes' very popular hit, and claimed that they thought their track was original. The man in charge was Michael Lee, owner of FastForward Music. Lee works with music...and he's never heard of the White Stripes? Right.
